Lorena Manríquez is an award-winning independent filmmaker based in Los Angeles.

 

Originally from Santiago, Chile, Lorena's work explores the rich, complex histories of the Latin American diaspora, from her personal film about the political strife of her home country, to the revolutionary work of the late Mexican muralist David Alfaro Siqueiros. In the United States, her documentaries tackle contemporary issues, including anti-immigration legislation and historic marginalization.

 

Lorena is the recipient of a number of fellowships and funding opportunities, and remains a dedicated member to several organizations in the Latinx and diversity space.
